Less than a star!

On, January 7, 2010 I went to pick up a package from UPS as it required my signature. When I opened the package, I realized that I had received a "diamond ring" from Helzberg Diamonds by mistake. I have never visited your website, nor had I ever purchased anything from them. I did the honest thing and I immediately call Helzberg Diamond, explaining that I had received the ring in error and would like to return it. The person I spoke to couldn't explain to me why I had received the ring, but the invoice said I purchased it on January 4th. I was not in town that day, nor did I go on the internet on the 4th, and I never purchased anything that day, especially from Helzberg Diamonds.

On January 20th, I noticed Helzberg Diamond charged my credit card for $126.49 on January 6th for this ring, which is something I never authorized. I don't know how they got my credit card, other than through internet fraud. They have compromised my credit card, and charged me with an authorized expense. This is outrageous of Helzberg Diamonds to practice this type of fraudulent business. I've sent the ring back and filed a complaint with my bank, hoping to get my money back and also sent a letter to the Beryl Raff, Chairman and CEO of Helzberg Diamond and also one to Laura Kirsner, CFO and Senior Vice President asking them to credit back to my account immediately the $126.49 charge. I'm still waiting on an answer from both my bank and Helzberg Diamond.

Monetary Loss: $126.

Location: Washington, District Of Columbia

This is clearly a case of identity theft, it's never the stores fault when this happens.

I have always ahd the best of service from Helzberg in Asheville, NC. The Folks at this store are really great people and are always giving me the best service.

No complaints here. :)

My husband is blind and got taken advantage of with this gimmick. No one explained the details to him, no one made a note on the account about his disabilility, and when they slapped us with $500 interest from the last year, they said it was in the fine print and he should have known.

They had advised us to use my credit since I had better credit at the time. They used this against us by saying that since I was the primary cardholder I should have read all the fine print to him. He wanted to buy my ring with out me knowing the cost, so I hadnt seen any of the paperwork. We tried to explain it to them, but they basically said since they had no record of the disability it wqas our fault and we had to pay more in interest than we even owed on the ring!!

Basically the misinformation and neglect of the Helzberg employees, along with the *** business practices of HSBC have caused us to be in debt after the wedding, and we cannot afford a house until we get this hacks paid off. My advice would be to never EVER buy anything from Helzberg, because they will not take care of you as a valued customer or guest, but lie to you and exploit you to take you for every penny you have. If you must do business here, do NOT use the card. It is decieful the way they set it up and dont tell you about the specific terms of everything.

They expect you to read every term, even if you cannot see to read. Bad, bad business if you ask me. I am a Human Resources Manager (Business degree) and I am shocked and apalled by the bad ethics of these two companies.

As for Jason[รขโ‚ฌหœs commentรขโ‚ฌยฆI can guarantee you he works for Helzberg. Every other company I have done business with or worked at clearly explains the credit terms to you, they donรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt mislead you then tell you รขโ‚ฌล“you should have read the fine print.รขโ‚ฌย I hate that we got taken by this scam, and hope I can save others from this by sharing our story.

Dear Pissed.

I truly believe, judging the idiocy of your email, that the most merciful thing to happen to you EX-HUSBAND is he passed away an no longer has to put up with your selfish *** and complaining. This is a man you divorced and out of the kindness of his heart, he left you the ring.

Out of the kindness of your heart, you chose to reveal how materialistic you truly are by trying to sell it. If your ex-dead-husband had any sense at all, he switched the good diamond with a *** diamond, left it to you just to give you hope that you could sell it for as you put it, HIS HARD EARNED MONEY. You are the kind of backwards *** clientel that Helzberg does not need. Good Riddance to you.

Go to Kays and have a mass produced cookie cutter diamond.

Oh wait, you would have to have money to do that and you clearly don't or you wouldn't be trying to sell a dead guys ring. What a piece of worthless ***.

HELZBERG DIAMONDS IS A RIPOFF.

For starters, I received a 14K Marquis Solitaire .50 UNCERTIFIED ring years ago from my then fiancรƒยฉ. The original sales receipt lists this ring at $3995 retail! He got this on a holiday special and paid with taxes around $3k. At that time, I did not press him for paperwork..I was happy to get the ring and thought nothing about it. He had the receipt and other warranty documentation, and the last thing on my mind was whether he was ripped off.

I ended up leaving him, and upon his death, he left the ring back to me. Being that I am under 40, single and canรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt wear the ring, it will sit in a box in my closet. I figured it would be best and he would appreciate me selling it for something else of value that I could use everyday. HOW WRONG I WAS. I CANรขโ‚ฌโ„ขT GIVE THIS RING AWAY. NO ONE WANTS IT. I have sent this ring to 4 diamond buyers with offers between $200-$300. To my ASTONISHMENT, I took it to a jeweler myself, to receive a verbal that equates to this diamond being a piece of ***. HALF OF THE JEWELERY BUYERS SIMPLY DO NOT WANT THIS RING, or they lowball me offering $200 (majority).

I wrote to ***-ZBERGรขโ‚ฌโ„ขS CORPORATE OFFICE, to get very RUDE customer service if you want to call it that. I inquired as to whether this ring had certification that was simply not passed on to me or my then fianceรขโ‚ฌโ„ข and I was told that it is uncertified and the reason is that they do not certify all of their diamonds in order to keep a variety of offerings to their customer (total b.s.). I then wrote back asking how it is, if a diamond is uncertified the value is determined. It makes no sense they would price a HALF CARAT RING at $4K retail that is uncertified and they offer nothing..they said the best there were willing to do since I canรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt get to a retail store (which I would still get the same outcome anyway) is to get an insurance appraisal. I do not need an insurance appraisal, I need what EVERYONE WHO OWNS A DIAMOND RING NEEDS, PARTICULARLY AT THIS OUTRAGEOUS PRICEรขโ‚ฌยฆA FREEGIN CLUE OF THE 4 Cรขโ‚ฌโ„ขS. I find it hard to believe that I can walk in any jeweler and ask for this information, yet the place I purchased it from CANNOT AND WILL NOT provide it after they received $3k for a $200 ring. Anyway, once I caught on to their b.s., they then stopped returning my emailsรขโ‚ฌยฆI was blown off completely. I did warn them that if they treated me that way I WOULD POST THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK THEY DESERVE and they IGNORED THAT TOO, so HERE IT IS U JERKS.

This was my first diamond and first engagement..had I known, I would have NEVER allowed my fiancรƒยฉ to purchase this ring or I would have immediately returned it myself. They seem to prey on men and their ignorance, and clearly they saw mine comingรขโ‚ฌยฆhe is CLEARLY unknowledgeable about this and they sold him an UNCERTIFIED DIAMOND at the price of a PERFECT CERTIFIED HALF CARAT DIAMOND. I could ring his neck for buying me this P.O.S. The only value this contains is that it is from himรขโ‚ฌยฆitรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs a cheap piece of *** and he worked very hard for his money.. Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs nothing short of awful and with all of the complaints I see they will be out of business with these sales tactics. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO ETHICAL SALES PRACTICESรขโ‚ฌยฆ.***-ZBERG *^&*&^ SUCKS.

Oh, and for you ***-ZBERG sales clerks รขโ‚ฌโ€œ do not bother responding with your b.s. excuses. THIS HAPPENED TO ME, and itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs happened to many people from what I see..your apologetic emails do no one any good who was ripped off having no recourse. I could have gotten a UNCERTIFIED DIAMOND at KMART or WALMART..it would hold more value than this I am sure of it. The point of going to a รขโ‚ฌล“fine jewelerรขโ‚ฌย is to get QUALITY. Jewelers should NOT be allowed to sell UNCERTIFIED DIAMONDS..it defeats the ENTIRE PURPOSE of paying more money.

It is much more likely that both you and Helzberg are the victims, and that someone else has gotten your credit card #, or a simple mistake that will be easily corrected.

Either way, certainly would NOT be fraud by the company.
